Harbours on Bornholm

Rønne / Nørrekås
Nørrekås is a modern Marina in Rønne with 100 visitor berths, 400 metres from the centre of Rønne. A relatively new service building has the following facilities: shower, toilet, coin-operated laundry, kiosk, marina office and barbecuing area. Countless activities are possible within a five-kilometre radius, including museums, public indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, 18-hole golf course, bowling centre, and all the other facilities offered by the largest town on the island in the way of shops, cafés, restaurants and more. A good playground and a small beach are located nearby the marina. The marina offers power and water outlets on all piers, as well as the use of a mast crane and the refuelling of diesel oil. Visiting yachters are welcome to berth wherever no red sign is posted. The marina can be entered day and night night any weather. The sectored light indicates the approach direction. Entering the marina is easy and safe, but skippers must respect the two compass marks showing a large rocky reef about 1.5 kilometres north of the marina, as the reef is covered by only about one metre of water.

Allinge Havn

A genuine »Bornholm harbour«, i.e., it was blasted out of the rocks, and the resulting chunks of granite were used to construct the solid harbour structures and surfaces. The harbour is in the centre of Allinge surrounded by a charming village milieu with many shops and restaurants right on the quay and a pavement café atmosphere all the way down the waterfront, peaking during the summer jazz festival.

Allinge is a ferry harbour and marina that can be entered day and night on a course of 249.9 degrees, but not in strong onshore winds. The marina has 60 visitor berths. A gate between the outer and inner basins is closed in strong onshore winds. A black sphere or three red vertical lights indicate that the harbour is closed. There is a daily passenger ferry

service to Christiansø Island (Denmark) and Simrishamn (Sweden) in summer.

Gudhjem og Nørresand Havn

Gudhjem's two harbours - offering ferry service and marinas -are of the authentic Bornholm variety: they were blasted out of the granite horst jutting up from the coast towards Bokuld and give the harbour and village an unusual mediterranean atmosphere. A ferry service offers several daily departures to Christiansø Island from the harbour. The village is a popular tourist destination brimming with activity, shops, restaurants, galleries and the Oluf Høst Museum. The rocky coast around the harbour is popular among visitors for enjoying everything from a Bornholm smoked herring to the beautiful sunsets. The eastern harbour has 40 visitor berths. This number is less in onshore winds because a gate between the inner and outer basins is closed in onshore winds above 10 metres per second. When the gate is closed, this will be indicated by an extinguished approach light and a red sphere on the flagpole. The western harbour - Nørresand - has 15 visitor berths, most of which, however, are somewhat agitated in strong westerly winds.

Svaneke Havn

Svaneke Havn is a charming commercial fishing harbour and marina with 40 visitor berths. The town and harbour area are finely preserved and Svaneke has received distinguished awards for its elegant preservation down to the last detail. The town has fine places to eat and many shops, with restaurants and cafés right on the waterfront, while 200 metres to the north is one of the island's largest smokehouses serving hot smoked herring and a wide variety of other smoked fish all day long.

Whenever the »Sunshine Town« of Svaneke - boasting more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in Denmark - isn't living up to its epithet, the harbour office has a splendid lounge area offering a scenic view of the Baltic Sea and the harbour. A small sandy beach with a diving board is located 300 metres south of the harbour. Joboland (Bornholm's amusement park) is three kilometres from Svaneke.
